Harney & Sons Japanese Sencha

Harney-Sons-SenchaThis has got to be one of the best everyday drinking green teas that I’ve ever had. Though I have to admit I may be biased a bit having obtained it at Trump Tower in Chicago, where it was one of the standard room teas (stashed, of course, in a really nice hardwood tea box on the kitchen shelf next to the $400 coffee machine).

I drink a lot of green tea lately because I’ve been reading about its wonder-drug medicinal benefits, but lately it’s been seeming a bit on the rough side, like the leaves are rushed to market or something. You know, to meet the increased demand. I can’t prove this but I suspect it strongly. And so I’ve been enjoying it less and less … and then I had this one.

Yes. This is what it is supposed to taste like. Delicate, refined, smooth, with subtle flavors and a light nutty background.

Good thing you can order this online from Harney.com, or places like Amazon.com, because I haven’t seen it in the store and I’m probably not going to be going back to the Trump Tower anytime soon.

That place is rather expensive.
